About Us

Exploring & Preserving Quaker History Since 1903

Founded in 1903, the Friends Historical Society exists to support the study and preservation of Quaker history.

For more than a century, the Society has encouraged research, published scholarly work, and helped ensure that Quaker records and historical sources are cared for and made accessible. Through its journal, activities, and membership, the Society brings together those with an interest in the history and legacy of the Religious Society of Friends.

How We Support Quaker History

The Friends Historical Society supports the study of Quaker history in a number of ways. Through its journal, grants, and events programme, the Society encourages research, publishes new scholarship, and provides opportunities to share knowledge and engage with the history of the Religious Society of Friends.
